What is "old-school media"? It's media that still means something, media that is crafted, and that keeps story as king. As video production has gotten cheaper, more & more people have entered the game. To be clear, this is a good thing: even we wouldn't be here without it.
However, with this dramatically lower barrier to entry comes (for better or worse) much less commitment to the medium. The advent of point-and-shoot camcorders, iMovie, and YouTube tells everyone to think they are a filmmaker. But the (admittedly awesome) tools need techniques to be effective.
So we're trying to hold on to those "old school" principles, techniques, and mastery, while also using any & all of the fancy digital "new school" tools necessary to get the job done on time & on budget.
